My lifestyle is getting greener by the moment. Since we moved to London 17 years ago, we’ve lived without a car. I am now the proud owner of a pair of vegan sandals. (Yeah, that’s just fancy for plastic).
And just last week, I bought a soda stream after reading an article about reducing the amount of plastic in your life. (I’m one of those annoying people who *only* drinks sparkling water…)
So all in all, yeah, I’m feeling pretty green. And pretty virtuous. I thought I’d share a radio essay I wrote for the BBC way back when I first moved overseas about my ever greener lifestyle called “turning green in London.” (To listen to the essay, you need to scroll down to the lower right corner of the page and click on the audio link).
Back then, I’d gone green by default, because we couldn’t afford a gym, or a car, or much else. Now, my ever greener lifestyle is a choice. And I feel pretty good of that. Have a listen to the piece. And tell my what sorts of green turns your lifestyle has taken over the past decade…
